No. 19 Men's Rowing Knock Off No. 20 GWU in Afternoon Session

“We knew going into the George Washington race that it was going to be an interesting race," said head coach Steve Todd. "Anytime you are as close in the rankings as we are, you know you are in for a real fight. Both the Varsity and the JV battled the full 2,000 meters. I was very proud of the guys’ determination.”
In the morning session OSU raced against No. 11 Trinity College. The Beavers put together two solid races in very difficult rainy and breezy conditions, but Trinity put forth two outstanding efforts as both boats finished ahead of the Beavers' V8+ and JV8+.
“We raced fairly well against Trinity,” said Todd. “Trinity has a great program and competed very well. We had a great first 500 (meters) where we were pretty much neck and neck with them. But Trinity was able to extend their lead. Overall, I felt we put together a pretty solid race in such tough conditions. The guys felt pretty good about the race as well.”

Action resumes tomorrow morning for the Beavers with the V8+ facing Gonzaga at 11:24 and the JV8+ will race Loyola in the afternoon at 12:30.
