“They battled hard. The weather was nice, but it was windy, so it made for tough scoring conditions again today.” Head coach Brian Watts said Sunday. “We started off a little slow, but once we got momentum going, we finished off strong. It was a tough day but they played with a lot of patience and they just battled hard. James played a great round of golf and Diego also played well again today. We might have played a little more aggressive, but when the wind kicked up it was just a matter of putting ourselves in a position to make par. Some holes were difficult along with the pin placements, but the guys just tried to keep it in front of them and give themselves opportunities. It was another great finish for them. We’re going to carry this momentum going into Pac-10’s.”
Stanford’s Rob Grube led the field for the entirety of the tournament, finishing with an 8-under 202 (65-69-68).
