Gebhardt got out to a rocky start with a triple-bogey, and was 6-over par through 15 holes before scoring a hole-in-one on the par-3, 16th , then birdied on 17 and made par on 18 to finish at 3-over. Gebhardt and Uhrik are in a tie for 32nd, but are out of the top 10 by only three strokes.
“Jessi really played a solid back nine today, especially the last three holes,” said head coach . “She had the ace on 16 which was great, she lipped out her eagle on 17 and had to settle with the birdie and really had a great par on 18 into the wind. I expect her to carry this over into tomorrow and play well.”

“We tee-off earlier tomorrow and that should help us some. It won’t be as windy since we will get more holes in earlier in the day. But we really just need to play the course. We need to hit more fairways because the rough is really deep which doesn’t allow for much of a shot out of it. If we stay in the fairway we will hit more greens. The short game is good and we are putting well, so our scores will be a lot better if we are hitting the ball a little better. Our scores could have been a lot better today. I think we are in good shape and I expect them to get it done tomorrow,” said Lakowske.
The Beavers begin teeing off at 8:40 tomorrow morning in the second round of the tournament (March 31).
