Beavers Have Strong Year Academically

The Oregon State University Department of Athletics had 109 selections to the various Pac-10 Conference All-Academic teams in 2005-2006. Those selections came from 17 intercollegiate programs and each team had at least two members.
Women’s rowing led the way with 14 members, followed by women’s swimming with 12, and women’s cross country and football each with 10.
In addition six student-athletes earned ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition; Cara Miller (soccer) Brett Gardner (soccer), Mandy Close (basketball), Ta’Tyana McElroy (softball), Cambria Miranda (softball) and Keegan Fitzgerald (gymnastics).
To be eligible for the academic all-conference teams, a student-athlete must be enrolled at an institution for at least one full year and be at least a redshirt-freshman in terms of athletic eligibility.
