Fall Sports Teams Excel Academically

To be eligible for the all-academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, be a starter or significant contributor and be at least a redshirt-freshman.
The sport breakdown is 10 for cross country and football, eight for women’s soccer, five for men’s soccer and four for volleyball.
Overall, eight OSU student-athletes were selected to the first-team.
They were junior Michelle Wilson and sophomore Kaitlin Poggi in women’s cross country; sophomore midfielder Brett Gardner and junior forward Bryan Jordan in men’s soccer; sophomore linebacker Andy Darkins and redshirt-freshman cornerback Keenan Lewis in football; senior defensive specialist Kristy Mortensen in volleyball; and senior defender Cara Miller in women’s soccer.
The other all-academic selections are:
Women’s cross country: Second team senior Jaime Fuller, senior Tara Stirewalt and junior Ashley Younce; Honorable mention senior Katie Magnuson, sophomore Nicole Crawford, sophomore Ashley Francis, sophomore Noelle Harer and redshirt-freshman Elise Aschwanden.
Football: Second team junior Adam Koets and sophomore Sammy Stroughter; Honorable mention junior Colt Charles, sophomore Kyle DeVan, sophomore Ryan Gunderson, sophomore Brandon Powers, redshirt-freshman Andy Levitre and redshirt-freshman Adam Speer.
Men’s soccer: Honorable mention sophomore Alex Christensen, sophomore Mason Webb and redshirt freshman Packy Deenihan.
Volleyball: Second team sophomore Kristin Murray and junior Abby Windell; Honorable mention senior Katelyn Healy.
Women’s soccer: Second team junior Melissa Onstad and sophomore Whitney Goodell; Honorable mention senior Stacy Mescher, senior Liz Money, junior Lauren Wippel, sophomore Monica Storm and sophomore Jodie Taylor.
