OSU to Unveil Retooled Cheerleading Squads in Coming Weeks

The Oregon State University Department of Athletics has announced it will unveil a revamped approach to its cheerleading squad in the coming weeks. OSU athletics officials and cheerleaders are collaborating on these changes and are committed to supporting a dynamic, high-energy program.
The reshaped program will be unveiled prior to May 1 and will have three components an all-female team, a co-ed team and a spirit squad. These three teams will work as a cohesive unit with the dance team and OSU band.
The squad also will be allowed to do some stunting and tumbling with safety as a foremost priority.
Tryouts for the 2006-2007 squads will occur in mid-May. Details are forthcoming.
