Blue Ribbon Yearbook Selects Beavers

Yvenson Bernard, Jeremy Perry, Sabby Piscitelli and Alexis Serna have been tabbed preseason First Team All-Pac-10 Conference by the Blue Ribbon College Yearbook.
Bernard, a junior running back, rushed for 1,321 yards last season and scored a total of 14 touchdowns. He finished ninth in the NCAA for rushing yards per game at 120.1. The 2005 Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 Conference selection enters the season having rushed for 100-plus yards in six of the last eight games.
Perry is a sophomore guard who earned Pac-10 Conference Co-Freshman of the Year last season, as well as Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 and was named to several Freshman All-American Teams.
Piscitelli is a two-time Pac-10 Honorable Mention selection and enters 2006 as the conference’s active leader for interceptions with 10. The strong safety has played in 48 consecutive games and has made 23 straight starts.
Serna was a first team All-American and the recipient of the Lou Groza Award, signifying the nation’s top kicker, last season. He has made 40 of 48 career field goals and 61 consecutive extra point attempts. His 83.3 percent field goal accuracy mark ranks second among active Division I kickers.
