OSU Makes It A Sweep Of No. 1 Ranking In Baseball Polls

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State officially made it a clean sweep of finishing No. 1 in the four major national baseball rankings when the Beavers topped the final list issued by Baseball America magazine on Friday. OSU also finished No. 1 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll, the Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll.
The other three rankings had been issued earlier in the week after the Beavers won the championship of the College World Series on Monday night by beating North Carolina 3-2. OSU finished the season with a 50-16 record overall, setting a school record for wins in a season, and was making its second straight CWS appearance after winnings its second straight Pacific-10 championship.
