Day 2 of IRA Championship Goes Well

The Freshman Four crew had the best outing by finishing second in their heat behind Stanford with a time of 6:52.86. The second place finish in today’s heat was good enough to qualify the F4 for tomorrows Grand Final race.
The Varsity Four crew had a lengthy delay today before finishing up with their race. A fifth place finish was the result for the V4 with a time of 6:57.50. The V4 will be competing tomorrow for the Petite Final championship.
Third place was the result for the Varsity eight crew who were clocked at 6:02.83. The V8 will be racing tomorrow in the class C Final race.
“Again I was pleased with how our guys raced,” said Head Coach Fred Honebein. “The Varsity Four did a great job to get themselves into the Grand Final so they can vie for a medal. The Varsity Four had a rough time with the weather but were able to put together enough to get into the Petite. And the Varsity Eight did what they had to, to get into the C final.”
