Oregon State University student-athletes Jonathan Koller (baseball), Stephanie Parker (rowing), Ashleigh Thomas (swimming) and Leah Schaab (swimming) have been awarded Pacific-10 Conference Postgraduate Scholarships. Each scholarship is worth $3,000.
Koller, from Carlsbad, Calif., will pursue a doctorate in physical therapy. He is a two-year letterman who transferred to Oregon State from UC Irvine after the 2001-02 academic year. The pre-medicine major has appeared in 11 games in 2006 as a relief pitcher entering the College World Series.
Parker, from Sidney, B.C., was the coxswain for the varsity eight boat. The team captain was a three-time Pac-10 Conference First Team All-Academic selection and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Parker has been accepted into the master’s program for physical therapy at the University of Toronto.
Thomas is a three-time Pac-10 Honorable Mention Academic honoree. The Uxbridge, Ontario native lettered four years and she will pursue her master’s in physical education from Oregon State.
Schaab was a four-year letterwinner and finished 16th in the 400 intermediate medley at the 2006 Pac-10 Championships. The Calgary, Alb., native was a Pac-10 First Team All-Academic selection this year after earning honorable mention twice. Schaab is considering options for her doctorate in medicine.
