CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eleven home matches at Gill Coliseum highlight the 2006 Oregon State volleyball schedule, as announced Friday by head coach . The season will open with a 12-day, three state tour of the Southwestern United States and the Midwest.
During that initial road trip, the Beavers will play in a tournament at UNLV August 25-26 against Oral Roberts, Cal Poly and the host Rebels. OSU then travels directly to Chicago for a single match against Loyola University, August 30. The expedition comes to a close with a tournament, Sept. 1-2 at the University of Wisconsin, where the Beavs will also face Oklahoma and South Dakota State.
Oregon State debuts its 2006 squad at Gill Coliseum with the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational, which OSU will co-host with the University of Oregon. Fresno State and San Diego State are each scheduled for matches in Corvallis and Eugene against the home teams.
The Beavers open the Pac-10 conference schedule at home against USC, Sept. 21. OSU faces Civil War rival, Oregon, which the Beavers have swept the past three seasons, in Eugene, Sept. 29 and again at Gill Coliseum Oct. 27.
OSU wraps up the regular season at UCLA and USC during Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 24-25.
