CORVALLIS, OR Oregon State women’s basketball freshman guard announced on Thursday that she has decided to leave the university and pursue opportunities of playing basketball and receiving her education closer to her hometown of Los Angeles.
“I have decided not to continue my academic and basketball career at Oregon State,” said White. “At this time I feel it’s within my best interest to attend a school close to home, near my family.”
White, a 5-10 guard, saw action in 17 games for Oregon State during the 2005-06 season and helped the Beavers to a postseason berth in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. OSU posted a 10-game improvement in its record during the season the fifth best improvement of any Division I program in the nation.
“I would like to thank Coach Wagner for the opportunity to be a part of the OSU program this season and I appreciate the relationships built with my teammates, as well as the staff,” said White. “I learned a lot about the game and would like to wish the program continued success in the future.”
“I would like to thank Ebony for her hard work and commitment to the program,” said Oregon State head coach . “She has our total support in her decision to return home to be with her family. I wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
