Women's Soccer Announces Schedule

“I think this is a very good schedule for us,” OSU Coach Steve Fennah said. “We play a lot of highly competitive teams. We start with a tough road trip to face two good teams at a neutral venue. We have some good home games, including the defending national champions. We have a tricky road trip to the East Coast to face three solid teams. The Pac-10 will be as good as ever.”
OSU opens the non-conference season with a pair of tough tests, as the Beavers go to Washington State’s Cougar Classic Tournament on Aug. 25-27 to take on a pair of 2005 NCAA Tournament teams, Gonzaga and UNLV.

The 2005 Beavers ended the season with a 10-8-1 overall record and placed eighth in the Pac-10 with a 3-5-1 mark. Unfortunately, they probably fell a game short of making the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. Soccer Buzz listed the Beavers as one of the “near misses.”
