Scholz Earns All-Conference Recognition - Oregon State University Athletics

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Oregon State senior has been selected to the 2006 All-Pac-10 Conference Men’s Rowing team, as announced Friday by Commissioner Tom Hansen.

“I’m really excited for Dan, he’s worked incredibly hard this year,” said head coach . “He’s been an inspiration to the team and is going to try out for the national team next year. This is a great step for him.”

The honor marks is the first such award for Scholz (Springfield, Ore./Springfield HS), whose brother Nick received earned All-Conference honors in 2003.

Scholz rowed in the stroke seat in the Varsity Eight in 2006, setting the pace that pushed the Beavers to third at the Pac-10 Championships earlier this month.

The 18th-ranked Beavers travel to Camden, N.J. next week to compete at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships, June 1-3.
