Softball Earns A Program-Best No. 5 National Ranking In Latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oregon State softball team moved up four places to earn a program-best No. 5 national ranking in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll for the week of April 24-30.

The Beavers (37-8; 9-5 Pac-10) were ranked as high as No. 6 earlier this season in both the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 and the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Poll.

Oregon State has won seven of its last eight games and wraps-up the home regular season this week with a Friday contest against No. 16 Washington and a weekend series against top-ranked UCLA. The Beavers are currently in second place (behind UCLA) in the Pacific-10 Conference standings.

Beaver seniors , , , , , and will be honored prior to Sunday’s 12 p.m. start against the Bruins.

The current ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll has six Pac-10 teams ranked in the Top-8 in the country.

The Beavers entered last week ranked No. 8 in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Poll. The new rankings are released on Wednesday afternoon.
