OSU Now No. 5 In USA Today/ESPN Baseball Coaches Poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State moved up one place to No. 5 in this week’s USA Today/ESPN baseball coaches poll after winning four of five non-conference games last week. The ranking is the highest of the season in the coaches poll for the Beavers (32-10 overall, 9-3 Pacific-10), who lead the Pac-10 race by two games heading into the final four weeks of the regular season.
OSU wraps up an eight-game homestand this weekend when it hosts Washington (30-16, 8-7) on Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. Those games can be heard live on KEJO-AM (1240) in the Corvallis area; broadcast information for KUIK-AM (1360) in the Portland area will be announced later this week. Saturday’s game will be televised live by FSN NW, and live audio and video via subscription is available on the internet at www.osubeavers.com.
OSU students have until Thursday at 12 noon to pick up their tickets for this weekend’s games; any remaining tickets will go on sale Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the OSU athletic ticket office in Gill Coliseum Room 107 or by phone at 1-800-GO BEAVS. Ticket availability will be posted Thursday afternoon at www.osubeavers.com.
In the other national rankings released Monday, OSU remained No. 5 in the Baseball America magazine rankings, rose one spot to No. 6 in the Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll, and stayed No. 6 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll.
OSU has won 20 of its last 23 games; at home, Oregon State is 19-2 this season and 47-7 since the start of the 2005 season.
