KGW to Feature Track Volunteer Assistant Coach Johanna Olson
First-year volunteer assistant coach Johanna Olson will be featured on KGW (channel 8) out of Portland tonight highlighting her running successes and overcoming a brain tumor while at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
The feature is scheduled to air at 6:22 p.m.
At Luther College, Olson was a seven-time Division-III All-American in cross country and track, a two-time Central Region individual champion in cross country and a three-time Iowa Athletic Conference individual champion in cross country. She also won the 2000 NCAA Division-III individual national champion in cross country.
Since she graduated in 2002, she was an Olympic Trials Marathon qualifier in 2004, and she won the U.S. Race Series Half-Marathon in May, 2005.
Currently, Olson is pursuing her master's in Exercise and Sport Science at Oregon State.
