Younce First to Score Points at Pac-10 Championships Since 1988

Eugene, Ore. – Junior , on top of other achievements this season, became the first Oregon State runner to score points at the Pacific-10 Championships Saturday evening since the program has been reinstated.

“Overall, I’m positive about the day,” Oregon State head coach said. “Six of our nine ladies that ran today set new personal records.”

Younce finished fifth overall with a time of 35:31.81 in the 10,000 meters scoring four points for Oregon State.

Her time broke the school record in that event, and her time was two minutes faster than last year’s race at the Pac-10 Championships.

Sophomore also moved up on the same list into the fourth place spot with a time of 37:09.08, and junior moved onto the list in the fifth place spot with a time of 37:10.50.

Earlier in the day, sophomore and freshman both set new personal records in the 1,500 meters finishing 15^th and 17^th, respectively.

And sophomore bested her 3,000 meter steeplechase time finishing in 11:08.67. Her time was 25 seconds faster than last year’s Pac-10s.
