OSU Ranked No. 10 In USA Today/ESPN Baseball Poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State slipped five places to No. 10 in this week’s USA Today/ESPN baseball coaches poll. The Beavers (35-13 overall, 12-6 Pacific-10) lost two of three games at Arizona State over the weekend, which helped move ASU up five places to No. 12 in the rankings.
By winning the final game of the series against the Sun Devils, OSU kept sole possession of first place in the Pac-10 standings. Through Monday’s games, the Beavers lead Arizona State (10-8) and UCLA (10-8) by two games, Southern California (11-10) by 2 1/2 games and Washington State (9-9) by three games.
Oregon State plays its final road series of the regular season this weekend, visiting Washington State (33-18, 9-9) for games Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 12 noon. All three games can be heard live on KEJO-AM (1240) in the Corvallis area; in the Portland area, KUIK-AM (1360) will broadcast Friday’s game via tape delay at 8 p.m., have no broadcast of Saturday’s game, and broadcast Sunday’s game via tape delay at 4 p.m. All three games can also be heard live via subscription on the internet at www.osubeavers.com. The Beavers then conclude the regular season at home against UCLA from May 26-28.
In the other national rankings released Monday, OSU fell two places to No. 6 in the Baseball America magazine rankings, dropped two spots to No. 7 in the Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll, and slid three spots to No. 9 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll.
