The Novice Eight qualified for the Grand Final by racing very well in their heat. For the first 1000 meters OSU led the heat, but through the last two legs Gonzaga and Washington slipped ahead of the Beavers leaving OSU in third place. Third place was good enough to qualify for the Grand Final. Through the first 500 meters of the Grand Final OSU was narrowly clinging to third position.
The First Varsity Eight didn’t get out to the start they needed to advance to the Grand Final race as they were bumped out by three outstanding boats in USC,
A shaky start was also the case for the second varsity eight in their heat race. Even with the slow start, they were able to hold onto fourth place in the heat. The ladies redeemed themselves after the less than perfect heat race by winning the Petite Final with a time of (6:58.3).

For them to win that heat they would have had to really pull something off going up against nationally ranked teams like that. They turned around and won the Petite Final which was a really good race from start to finish. They had to work hard for that win.”
“The varsity four and second varsity eight showed considerable improvement today. The varsity four had probably their best race of the year in the heat race. It was unfortunate that they didn’t have the kind of race in the Grand Final like they had in their heat. But they had a good day nonetheless. It was also great to see the second varsity finish so well with a victory is the Petite Final.”
“The novice eight had been doing great all year. They had a great heat race and then went on to have another good race in the Grand Final. They raced really well against some really good crews. They raced hard to get a medal but came up a little short, but they represented
