Beavers Open Spring Season This Weekend

The
Saturday’s match features faces of the past, as a team of
OSU’s lineup returns 10 letterwinners from the 2005 squad including three starters plus the libero.
Juniors and are proven offensive forces and sophomore outside hitter should be the primary weapon from the outside position. Cahoon, who has played at middle blocker throughout her career, will spend considerable time as the opposite hitter in preparation for the fall when her versatility can be put to better use. Freshman libero should anchor the defense in the back row with help from defensive specialist . Freshman is expected to be the primary setter this spring and will run the offense for the Beavers. Junior and freshman will fill the other outside hitter positions. Studzinski spent most of the 2005 season as the Beavers primary back-up at the position while Myers missed the season due to shoulder surgery. Redshirt-freshman will fill the second middle blocker position and seeks to establish a role for herself in the middle for the fall. Sophomore continues to work as a setter this spring and will continue to run the offense for the Beavers in hopes of establishing herself in the setting mix for 2006.
