Women's Golf 12th at NCAA Regional

AUBURN, Wash. The Oregon State women’s golf team stands in 12th place after the first 18-hole round of the NCAA Women’s West Regional, hosted by Washington. The second round will be played on Friday (May 12) and the final round on Saturday (May 13). OSU is scheduled to tee-off the second round at 8:30 am on Friday.
The Beavers shot a 306 for the first round of play at the par-72 Washington National Golf Club. OSU currently stands three strokes out of seventh place.
“They hit the ball better than they scored today.” Head coach Rise Lakowske said after Thursday’s round. “There are a lot of water hazards and waste areas, so you have to keep focused. It’s all about playing smart and getting the ball in position. The greens on this golf course are very large. Julianna had a good day today. She was really hitting the ball well.”
Julianna Uhrik is tied for 7th and led the way for the Beavers with an even-par 72. Jillian Ferrante finished the first round tied for 45th with a 5-over-par 77. Jessi Gebhardt shot a 78 and is tied for 55th. Leah Whiting shot a first round 79 and is tied for 69th. Martha Burkard shot an 86. Burkard is tied for 98th.
