2006: Ben has more starts than any player in the program at 25, and will likely start his final season after serving in a backup role as a junior...one of the more physical players on the team...a postseason honors candidate. 2005: Ben had 18 tackles, including 4.5 for loss, in 10 games...accounted for three sacks, two at Louisville...also broke up two passes...blocked an extra point attempt against Arizona...missed the Portland State game and most of the August practice period with a left shoulder injury an injury that was bothersome throughout the season...his play helped OSU finish first in the conference and 17th in the nation for rush defense, allowing 108.0. 2004: Ben had 30 tackles from his defensive tackle position...made a career-high six tackles against LSU and Arizona State...also had 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 quarterback sacks...forced a fumble against USC...started all 12 games...his play helped Oregon State rank second (USC) in the Pac-10 and 18th in the nation for total defense allowing 313.3 yards...the team also ranked first in the Pac-10 for pass efficiency defense (101.0) and third for rush defense (117.3). 2003: He started all 13 games as a redshirt-freshman and recorded 15 tackles...among those 15 tackles were four for losses and two sacks (UO, Stanford)...his play helped OSU rank seventh in the nation for total defense, allowing 288.7 yards per game, and fourth for rush defense at 84.4...entered fall camp third on the depth chart, and moved up to starter due to his play and an injury to a teammate (Sir Henry Anderson)...Sporting News named him to its Pac-10 Conference All-Freshman team.

CACTUS: Ben lettered three years and started two at defensive tackle...first team All-Wells Fargo Region...Arizona Republic All-West Valley and second team all-state...team captain as a senior...had 126 tackles and 11.5 sacks for his prep career...helped Cactus to the No. 3 ranking in the state as a senior and a trip to the second round of the 4A playoffs.
