The Sporting News has named
Bernard rushed for 1,321 yards last season as a sophomore, the fifth-highest single season mark in OSU history. His 120.1 yards per game average ranked ninth in the nation. Bernard enters this season 400 yards short of breaking into the school’s top 15 all-time ground gainers.
Schuening, a junior, helped Bernard amass those totals. The Pendleton native has started 23 consecutive games and was a 2005 Pac-10 Honorable Mention selection.
Piscitelli, a senior, is the active leader in the Pac-10 for interceptions with 10. The two-time conference Honorable Mention pick has started 23 games and played in 48 consecutive contests.
Serna was the 2005 Lou Groza Award recipient, given annually to the nation’s premier placekicker. A First Team All-American last season, Serna enters the year with the second-highest field goal percentage among active kickers in the NCAA at .833 (40-48). He has also made 61 consecutive extra point attempts and is the program’s fifth all-time leading scorer with 181 points.
Senior tight end and sophomore guard were named to the publication’s second team.
The Beavers’ four first team selections tied for second among the conference schools, following the six honorees from USC.
