Swimming Adds One - Oregon State University Athletics

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Sarah Mayzes, a distance freestyle swimmer from Victoria, British Columbia has signed a letter of intent to swim for Oregon State, beginning next fall.

Mayzes, who has Canadian National times in the 800 freestyle, brings added depth to the young OSU team and will plan on swimming both the 500 and 1650 freestyle events.

“She gives us a formidable distance group now,” OSU coach Larry Liebowitz said. “I believe her talent will help our team overall and she brings raised expectations to our program.”

Mayzes is the fifth recruit added to the OSU swim team this year. Earlier in the fall the Beavers added four recruits to the team. In addition to Mayzes, OSU added Brittany Iverson (Corvallis, OR/Crescent Valley HS), Anna Crandall (Salt Lake City, UT/Skyline HS), Megan Evans (Fort Collins, CO/), and Dena Lougee (Santa Maria, CA/Santa Maria HS).
