Women's crew to face-off with Washington State - Oregon State University Athletics

After a week away from competition, the Oregon State women’s rowing team is ready to hit the water in Pullman, Wash. The Beavers will be competing on Saturday, Apr. 29 in a dual hosted by the Washington State Cougars. The Cougars are currently the seventh ranked crew in the nation.

The races this weekend will be a rematch from the University of Washington invite on April 8 when the Cougars had the upper hand against the Beavers.

“We’ve raced against Washington State already earlier this year,” head coach Charlie Owen said. “I’m really looking forward to facing them again. I feel that we have improved since the our last meeting with them and we should give them a very good race.”

“The first varsity eight have made good progress in the last few days, and actually the couple weeks. This weekend will be a good test to see how far we’ve come. We changed up the varsity four this week and they are looking much faster. The second varsity eight looks much improved as well. I’m feeling very good going into the weekend.”

The Oregon State men’s crew will also be competing this weekend in Madison, Wisc.
