“We are really psyched for this competition,” said head coach Fred Honebein. “This will be a good competition for us. We get a chance to see what the east coast speed is like. We are going to have to compete at the highest level that we can, and we are real excited about that.”
“This has been a crazy year. The lineups that we have put together just haven’t gelled. It has been frustrating for the team and me. There really is no explanation behind it. The good news is that we haven’t given up. That has really helped the environment on the water and in the boat house. We haven’t met our goals yet for the season, but the guys are still working really hard. I’m very proud of their character and their effort they have been putting forward. It has been a tough season, but we can turn it around with this competition and maybe give us some momentum heading into the Pac-10s.”
