The Beavers were leading the tournament through the first 15 holes, but struggled on their next 21 to shoot a 732 (361/371) on Monday at the par-71 Bighorn Golf Club. UCLA is leading the tournament after scoring a 13-under-par 697 (349/348) for the first two rounds.

Christian Green, who joined the team just in time for the tournament, shot a 150 (74/76) and is tied for 43rd. Standing in a tie for 45th is Alex Williams who carded a 151 (74/77) on Monday’s opening rounds.
“We got off to a great start. Our last nine holes was difficult to watch. Mentally and physically, the golf course wore them out today. We struggled with our finishing in the morning round and in the afternoon round. It obviously had a big impact on our score.” Head coach Brian Watts said, “We have a lot of work ahead of us. They know where they stand and they know what they need to do to make it to post-season play. If they play solid the next two rounds, they have a great opportunity to make it to post-season play. It’s imperative that we get off to a good start tomorrow. Jeremiah (Oliver) and Mitch Gillis played solid today and made few mistakes. Christian (Green) made a couple mistakes, but played very solid. I was proud of him for his efforts today. I consider his day a very successful day.”
UCLA’s Daniel Im leads the tournament on the individual side with a 7-under-par 135 (67/68).
