Student-Athletes Show Their Other Side
April 14, 2005
Corvallis, Ore. - The third annual student-athlete talent show, "The Other Side" had the audience at some points laughing, but mostly in awe Wednesday night at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center.
The event was led by volleyball's Karah Rhoades and men's rowing's Connor Bullis, and men's golf's Cameron MacKenzie was the master of ceremonies.
Nearly every team or an athlete from each team put something together from songs to dances to a video.
There were many highlights including a Fijian warrior dance presented by football, a piano solo by men's soccer's Matt Johnson and a solo by swimming's Mari Embertson, just to name a few.
The night wrapped up with the fashion show put on by the volleyball team featuring the designs of junior Katelyn Healy and sophomore Abby Windell.
The event raised over $1,300 through ticket sales and silent auction for UNICEF to benefit the tsunami victims of Southeast Asia.
