2004-05 OREGON STATE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
SEASON NOTES
*Oregon State posted a school record .734 free throw percentage
*The Beavers matched the school record for fewest turnovers in a single game with just 7 miscues against Utah Valley State (Feb. 1)
*Senior guard Shannon Howell set the single season record for free throw percentage with a .862 (144-for-167) clip from the line
*Senior guard Shannon Howell became Oregon State's all-time leading free throw shooter with a .836 (240-for-287) percentage
*Senior guard Shannon Howell finished her career ranking in 7th place in the OSU record book for points scored per game; averaging 16.4 ppg. (836 total) over 51 contests
*Junior guard Mandy Close became just the 4th guard in Oregon State history to pull down 100 rebounds in back-to-back seasons; All-American Felicia Ragland ('99, '00, '01, '02) and Academic All-Americans Margo Evashevski ('91, '92) and Chelle Flamoe ('87, '88, '89) are the others
*Senior guard Shannon Howell's 144 free throws made rank 3rd in the Oregon State single season record book
*Senior guard Shannon Howell became the 8th player in Oregon State history to score 500 points (503) in a single season
*Sophomore forward Casey Bunn led all players in field goal percentage with a 46-percent clip, while Mandy Close led all guards with a 39-percent clip
*Junior post Kim Butler finished second on the team in scoring (10.1 ppg.), rebounds (4.5 rpg.), steals (1.2 spg.), and blocked shots (0.7 bpg.)
*Senior guard Jessica Mellinger finished her career having played in 121 games - the 4th highest total in Oregon State history
*Senior guard Shannon Howell led the Beavers in scoring (17.3 ppg.), assists (3.1 apg.), steals (2.0 spg.), and minutes played (32.9 mpg.)
*All 14 players on the roster scored during the season and 11 different players appeared in the starting line-up
