Celebrity Golf Tournament Another Success

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State University Department of Athletics held its 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Challenge May 21-22 at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Hillsboro. The event began on Friday evening with dinner and the Celebrity Auction at the 5th Avenue Suites Hotel in downtown Portland. Mike Parker was the MC for the evening and Jamie Yraguen from Roseburg served as the auctioneer.
The Celebrity Auction was a tremendous success, with many celebrities bidding on themselves to help contribute to the fundraising efforts. Celebrities in attendance included Mike Riley, Jay John, Terry Baker, Maurice Lucas, Charlie Sitton, Jim Jarvis, Steve Preece, Bob Grim, Jamie Williams, Tim Dwight, Mark Radford, Bill Enyart and Sean Arey.
On Saturday morning Arey, the head professional at Trysting Tree Golf Club, held a skills clinic before the tournament. The tournament had a full field and was enjoyed by all in attendance. The winning team consisted of Allen Campbell, Jeff Etchison, Ken Docekal and Jim Duty, and were joined by former basketball standout Charlie Sitton. The event was a great success and many are already looking forward to next year.
