CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will continue its 2003-04 Food Drive when the Beavers host Washington on Sunday at 1 p.m. in a baseball game at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. For the food drive, fans are asked to bring canned food items; all fans donating either a food item or $1 will receive a coupon good for a small popcorn at the concession stand, courtesy of Sodexho Marriott.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is an organization with representatives from all 15 of Oregon State's varsity sports. The group wants to show its appreciation for the support it receives from the community by organizing projects to help those in need of assistance.
Almost 37,000 pounds of food have been collected so far during the 2003-04 academic year; the SAAC's goal for the year had been 30,000 pounds. The food collected will be donated to Linn-Benton Food Share, and this is the second straight year the SAAC has exceeded its goal.
