Chelsea Plourde Named To Pac-10 All-Conference Team
April 1, 2004
Oregon State freshman Chelsea Plourde was named to the Pacific-10 All-Conference Women's Gymnastics Team as an all-arounder, the league announced Thursday.
The All-Pac-10 Team consists of six all-arounders and three gymnasts on each of the four individual events. The team is determined by a combination of scores at the Pacific-10 Championships and Regional Qualifying Scores (RQS) prior to the conference championship meet, with each weighing 50 percent.
Plourde tied for the seventh with a 39.500 all-around score at the Pac-10 Championships, and she entered the conference championships with an RQS of 39.460.
Plourde, who was named the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year two weeks ago, was the only rookie to make the All-Pac-10 Team on any event. She ranks 22nd in the nation as an all-arounder and is tied for 13th nationally on beam.
Oregon State has received 50 All-Pac-10 honors since 1988.
