Beavers In 10th After Two Rounds At Spartan Invitational

The OSU women's golf team posted a two-round team total of 616 and is in 10th place after two rounds of the Spartan Invitational at the par-72 Corrall de Tierra Country Club in Salinas, Calif.
Freshman Lindsay Eide is tied for 31st and led the team with an 8-over 152. Sophomore Leah Whiting is just two strokes behind Eide with a 154 and is tied for 41st going into the final round tomorrow.
Second-ranked UCLA (Golfweek) overtook first-round leader California (ranked 6th) to post a two-day total 3-under 573, giving the Bruins a nine-shot lead over the Bears with 18 holes to play.
UCLA was propelled into first after an afternoon round of 9-under 279, including individual rounds that landed three of their players in the top five after two rounds. Bruin Charlotte Mayorkas sits atop the leaderboard after a second-round 5-under 67 gave her a two-shot lead over California's Sophie Andersson.
UCLA did not have to count a round above par in the team total for the second round.
All competitors currently in the top five hail from either UCLA or California as both schools are proving why they are ranked among the nation's best.
Senior Laura Skinner struggled in the afternoon round and carded a 156, putting her in a tie for 49th place along with junior Alex Lucio, who posted a 6-over 78 in both rounds.
Sophomore Anna Rosvall is tied for 63rd with a 160.
The final round begins tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.
