Women's Soccer Announces 2004 Schedule

The Oregon State women's soccer team is slated to play 20 games in 2004, 11 of which are on its home pitch, Lorenz Field at Valley Stadium, Beaver coach Steve Fennah announced Monday.
OSU opens with four home matches, beginning Aug. 27 against San Diego State, after starting the season on the road each of the last three years. Included in the opening homestand is the OSU Nike Invitational, Sept. 3-5. The tournament features games against New Hampshire and UNC-Greensboro.
Also on the home slate are non-league contests with Portland (Sept. 17), Portland State (Sept. 29) and Gonzaga (Oct. 1); as well as Pacific-10 Conference matches with Washington (Oct. 22), Washington State (Oct. 24), Arizona (Nov. 5) and Arizona State (Nov. 7).
The Beavers face Oregon in the annual Civil War contest in Eugene on Oct. 15.
Also on the docket is a cross-country trip to Richmond, Va., where OSU faces Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth Sept. 10-12.
OSU will be hunting for a NCAA Tournament bid, the first round of which begins Nov. 12.
Fennah also announced OSU's spring schedule, which includes five non-counting matches against Northwest opponents.
OSU takes on Seattle Pacific and Washington State in Seattle on Apr. 3, then hosts Western Oregon on Apr. 17.
The Beavers travel to Eugene Apr. 23-24 to take on Portland State and Gonzaga.
