Four Men's Golfers Earn Pac-10 Academic Recognition

Sean Deacon headed a list of four Oregon State men's golfers earning Academic All-Pacific-10 honors with his first-team selection, as announced by the conference Wednesday.
Michael Jurgensen was picked for the second team, while Chance Holmes and Cameron MacKenzie earned honorable mention.
Deacon, who carries a 3.73 grade-point average as a junior in Business Administration, was named to the Verizon Academic All-Region second team earlier this spring. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native also attended the prestigious NCAA Leadership Conference earlier in June.
Deacon holds the OSU three-round scoring record with a 205, which he recorded as a sophomore.
Jurgensen was a first-team pick last year, and tallied a 3.32 GPA as a senior while leading the Beavers with a 73.02 scoring average. Jurgensen is from Horsholm, Denmark.
Holmes earned his second consecutive honorable mention, and MacKenzie his first.
Holmes posted the third-best single-round score with a 66 last fall, and MacKenzie tied for sixth at the Pac-10 Championships in May.
