Corvallis, Ore. - The Fifth Annual Bennys Awards, a celebration to commemorate this year's achievements of Oregon State University student-athletes, will be held Wed., June 4 on the OSU campus.
The Bennys recognize student-athletes for excellence on the fields of play, in the classroom, and for community service. The ceremony also honors special friends of the Athletic Department.
The Bennys begin at 5 p.m. at Parker Plaza, located between Gill Coliseum and Reser Stadium, with the Training Table Reception. Food, music, and games are featured at the Plaza, plus it's your chance to become acquainted with the school's student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
The awards ceremony begins at 7 p.m. at the LaSells Stewart Center, with Bennys presented in several categories including the athletes of the year, performances of the year, scholar-athletes of the year, All-Americans, newcomers of the year, teams of the year, and coaches of the year to name several. Following the ceremony the department invites you to the Fifth Quarter Get-Together for coffee and desserts.
Tickets for the Bennys are $25 for all the events, or free for the awards ceremony only. Tickets are required, including for the ceremony, and may be obtained by contacting the Beaver Athletic Student Fund at 541-737-2370 or by stopping by the office at 123 Gill.
