White-Hoppe, Simmons Earn CRCA All-Region Recognition

Oregon State women's rower Julia White-Hoppe and coxswain Lynn Simmons have earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-Region honors, the CRCA announced Friday.
White-Hoppe was named to the CRCA All-West Region first team, and Simmons was tabbed for the West Region All-Scholar team.
White-Hoppe, a junior from Medford, Ore., is now eligible for CRCA All-America selection.
Simmons, a senior from Lakeview, Ore., was recently named to the Verizon Academic All-Region second team with a 3.96 grade-point average while carrying a double major in Agriculture Business Management and Ag Resource Economics. Simmons was also OSU's team captain.
Both White-Hoppe and Simmons were members of the varsity eight that was ranked among the nation's top 20 throughout the year and recently finished sixth at the Pacific-10 Championships. The team finished fifth, with 39 points.
