CORVALLIS - Oregon State University announced Thursday that it has extended its radio broadcast agreement with KEX-AM radio in Portland through 2007.
Beaver Sports Properties, which holds the broadcast, marketing and publishing rights for Oregon State University Athletics, reached the agreement with KEX. The contract gives KEX the exclusive radio broadcasts rights for Beaver athletics in the Portland metro area for the next four years.
"We are extremely happy that our long-time partnership with KEX will continue," said OSU Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis. "This is an exciting time for OSU athletics. With the expansion of Reser Stadium for football, we see KEX, as the voice of the Beavers in Portland, a key to our success. We are proud to partner with such a powerful radio station."
KEX-AM (1190) airs all regular season and post season football and men's basketball games as well as all "Beaver Sports Talk" coaches shows. "Beaver Sports Talk" airs Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. during the respective seasons.
"We are excited that KEX remains the home for Beaver sports broadcasts," said Mark Massari, general manager of Beaver Sports Properties. "KEX adds a big signal to our network, reaching tens of thousands of Beaver fans each week."
Oregon State's relationship with KEX radio now spans over four decades.
Mike Parker (play-by-play) and Bob Grim (analyst) will continue to be the talent for all Beaver football games and Parker will continue to call the action for men's basketball games, as well as host "Beaver Sports Talk."
Along with KEX in Portland, the Beaver Radio Network has nearly 30 affiliated radio stations throughout Oregon.
