SCHEDULE: The Oregon State women's rowing team opens its spring season with a dual race at the University of Victoria on Elk Lake in British Columbia. Teams will race Saturday and Sunday, with a full 2,000-meter sprint race on Sunday. OSU is bringing a varsity eight, second varsity and third varsity eight, and a second novice eight. Racing begins at approximately 9 a.m. Sunday.
THE LAST TIME: OSU raced Victoria last year, with Victoria winning by a few seconds. Two years ago the varsity and second varsity eights lost close races, but the third varsity and novice came away with wins.
LAST ACTION: OSU's last competition was on Nov. 10, when OSU rowed in a head race at Washington's Head of the Lake Regatta in Seattle. The varsity eight placed third with a time of 17 minutes, 14.3 seconds. Stanford was first and Washington came in second. The JV eight also finished third and the novice was fourth.
