OSU SAAC To Put On 2nd Annual Student-Athlete Date Auction
The event begins at 7 p.m. in Milam Auditorium on the OSU campus, and doors open at 6:30.
The event aims to raise money for a memorial for Joe Zaher and Stephen Hensor, two men's soccer players who passed away in the last seven months.
The auction format allows those in attendance to bid - either individually or in groups - on dates with student-athletes. The dates will be in a package format, so those bidding will do so on the student-athlete and the dinner together.
A total of 10 male and 10 female student-athletes will be up for bid.
The event is free, but those bringing cans of food will receive a raffle ticket for various prizes.
Last year's event raised over $3,500 for Stephen Hensor and his family; some bids reached as high as $400.
Hensor passed away on Aug. 30, 2002 after a yearlong battle with liver cancer. Zaher suffered fatal injuries in a car accident on Dec. 1.
