Oregon State Captures First NW Dodge Dealers Civil War Cup

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State University Athletics Department captured the 2001-2002 Northwest Dodge Civil War Series Cup by edging the University of Oregon 9-8 in head-to-head competition. Each institution has captured one Cup, with the 2000-2001 competition finishing in a tie.
This year's champion was decided at the March 28-29 Oregon Duck Women's Golf Invitational held at the Mallard Creek Golf Course in Lebanon. Oregon State defeated Oregon by nine shots to break the series' tie and win the school's first cup.
Oregon State earned nine points in 2002, scoring in women's golf, softball, and volleyball twice. The Beavers also earned points in wrestling, women's basketball, and women's soccer. Oregon scored two points each for its victories in football, men's golf, and men's basketball. The Ducks also earned points in women's basketball and wrestling. The finish at each institution's home events determines points awarded in the men's and women's golf competitions.
The Northwest Dodge Dealers Civil War Series started in 1999-2000.
