SCHEDULE: Oregon State heads to the Palouse for a head-to-head race with Washington State on Saturday, March 30 on the Snake River. Racing begins at 3 p.m., with a total of six races on the day. OSU will field a first and second varsity eight, a first and second novice eight, a varsity eight and a novice eight. Times for individual races follow:
3:00- Novice Four
3:15- Varsity Four
3:45- Second Novice Eight
4:00- Second Varsity Eight
4:20- Varsity Eight
4:35- Novice Eight
JOY!: Senior Joy Jordan, who sat out the varsity eight race with Victoria due to a fever, has recovered and will resume rowing in the sixth seat in the varsity eight this weekend.
HEAD COACH CHARLIE OWEN ON THE RACE: "I expect Washington State to be fast. All of our Pac-10 competition should really be tough. We don't have a soft race on the whole schedule."
"We've always been pretty close with Washington State, so it will be interesting. In the fall, we beat them, but it's been a long time since the fall. Washington State raced last weekend (against Gonzaga) and did very well. We raced a few weeks ago and did pretty well, but didn't win. It'll be a good test for us and should help get us ready for racing in San Diego a week later.
"We're just looking forward to our first race against a Pac-10 team - the season's here and we've got to be ready to go. We've had a race, but it's still very early still in the season. We're not to our full speed yet."
