Men's Soccer 2001 Schedule Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. - - The Oregon State men's soccer team will play 20 regular-season games this fall, with 10 matches to be held at the Beavers' Lorenz Field at Valley Stadium.
The Beavers kick off the season with six road games, beginning with a match at Gonzaga on Aug. 24. The road swing also includes stops at Northwest rival Portland and head coach Dana Taylor's alma mater Creighton. The six game road trip is the longest since the Beavers opened the 1991 season with a seven-game stretch.
OSU's home-opener will be Sept. 16, when the Beavers host UC-Santa Barbara.
Other home highlights for the Beavers include an Oct. 21 match against Pac-10 rival UCLA, a Nov. 2 contest with Washington, and a Nov. 18 match with Stanford.
OSU will again host the Oregon State/Diadora Classic, and this year the tournament will span two weekends. The Beavers host Sacramento State on Friday, Sept. 21, and San Diego State on Sunday, Sept. 23. OSU takes on Cal State Northridge and Valparaiso the following weekend.
