Oregon State topped the 20,000 mark in football season ticket sales on Wednesday for the first time in school history.
The Beavers had a goal of reaching 20,000 season tickets sold for the 2001 season when applications became available during the second week of January. As of Wednesday, OSU has sold over 20,100 season tickets.
This marks the third straight year, all during the Dennis Erickson Era, that the Beavers have established a new record for season ticket sales. OSU sold 11,270 season tickets in 1999, Erickson's first season as the Beavers' head coach. OSU's season ticket total reached 14,784 last year.
As a result of passing the 20,000 mark before the end of April, the Beavers' new season ticket goal is to reach 23,000 season tickets before the start of the 2001 campaign. Oregon State will play five home games in 2001, starting with Montana State on September 15. The Beavers also host UCLA on Sept. 29, Arizona on October 13, California on Oct. 27 and Washington on November 10. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the OSU Athletic Ticket Office at 541-737-4455 or 1-800 GO BEAVS.
