Four Swimmers Earn Academic All-Conference

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - - Four Oregon State women's swimmers earned academic All-Pacific-10 Conference recognition, it was announced Friday by the Pac-10. To qualify, athletes must have a 3.0 grade point average and be a significant contributor to the team.
Paula Finlay and Bonnie Renwick earned first-team honors, while Jill Personius received honorable mention.
Finlay, a sophomore majoring in engineering, carries a 3.73 GPA and was an honorable mention pick last year. The Roseburg, Ore., native also has a school record in the 200 individual medley and owns places on six different all-time top-10 performers lists at OSU.
Renwick, a butterfly and sprint freestyler from Portland, Ore., has accumulated a 3.82 GPA as of her junior year, in addition to places on OSU's top-10 performers lists in five different events. Renwick holds the school record in the 100 butterfly.
Amy Imwalle was one of five seniors on this year's squad, and she produced a 3.47 GPA while majoring in Zoology. The Bend, Ore., native holds four spots on OSU's top-10 lists. She was academic honorable mention all-conference last year.
Jill Personius, a junior distance freestyler from Phoenix, Ariz., has earned academic all-conference honorable mention two consecutive years.
