OSU Names Copeland, Degenhardt Academic Athletes Of The Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Stephen Copeland, sophomore baseball pitcher, and senior gymnast Lara Degenhardt were named Oregon State's academic student-athletes of the week, it was announced Thursday.
Copeland, a sophomore form McNary High School in Salem, is in his second season as a member of Oregon State's baseball team. He is a pitcher/infielder for the Beavers. He carries a 3.84 GPA as a mathematics major.
During this past weekend, Copeland also picked up a pitching save and had a pair of hits and 2 RBI while playing second base as Oregon State swept a three-game series at home against defending Big Ten champion Minnesota.
Degenhardt is from Salem and has a 3.49 GPA in visual arts. She was also named to the Verizon Academic All-District VIII second team Thursday. Degenhardt was a second team All-American on floor exercise last year and was the Pac-10 champion on floor exercise. She currently ranks 20th in the nation on floor exercise.
Copeland and Degenhardt were selected academic student-athletes for the week of March 12-18.
