OSU changes student ticket policy for football
June 5, 2000
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State students will need to pick up their football tickets on a game-by-game basis next fall, the OSU athletic department announced Monday. That is a change from last season, when OSU student tickets were issued in the form of a season ticket.
For the 2000 season, OSU student tickets will be distributed starting Monday at 8:30 a.m. for that Saturday's game. Tickets will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Gill Coliseum front ticket booth, and on game-day Saturdays from 9 a.m. until kickoff at the Gill Coliseum front ticket booth.
The tickets will be free with a valid OSU student identification card, to be eligible for football tickets, students must be enrolled at OSU for fall term. Students must present their OSU identification card when they pick up their tickets, and they must also present their ID card with their ticket when entering Reser Stadium.
For the season's first five home games, OSU students will be able to choose the east grandstand section for their seat on a first-come, first-serve basis when picking up their tickets but will not be able to choose a specific seat. For the Civil War game against Oregon, all OSU student seating will be on a reserved-seat basis.
The change in the ticket policy was made in response to requests by OSU students and is aimed at allowing more students a chance to see the Beavers' home games. Oregon State kicks off the 2000 season at home Sept. 2 against Eastern Washington, and tickets for that game will be available to OSU students starting Monday, Aug. 28.
Oregon State's home schedule for next fall includes the game against Eastern Washington on Sept. 2 plus contests against San Diego State on Sept. 23, Southern California on Sept. 30, Stanford on Oct. 14, Washington State on Oct. 28 and Oregon on Nov. 18.
