Jenny Condon Returns To OSU As Assistant Softball Coach
June 28, 2000
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Jenny Condon will return to Oregon State as an assistant softball coach, head coach Kirk Walker announced Wednesday.
Condon spent the 1998 and 1999 seasons as an assistant coach at OSU before heading to UNLV, where she was the first assistant coach for the 2000 season. Condon will replace Jennae Lambdin, who served as an assistant coach at OSU this past season before deciding to return to California to pursue other opportunities.
"We are very excited to have Jenny back after a year of absence," Walker said. "She has been a big part of our program's development, and I look forward to her continuing to make our program a success."
Condon was a part of the 1999 coaching staff that was named Pacific Region Co-Coaching Staff of the Year. The Beavers advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history and finished just a game shy of a trip to the Women's College World Series. OSU won a school record 47 games in 1999.
She coached at Northwestern for one season before coming to Oregon State for the 1997-98 school year, and she spent two other years at UNLV prior to the job at Northwestern.
Condon played collegiately at Iowa State, where she was an All-American outfielder in 1989. She was also a two-time Academic All-American and earned a bachelor of science in physical education in 1991. She was a member of the U.S. National Team that won the gold medal at the Pan American Games in 1995.
