CORVALLIS, Ore. - - Oregon State rowers Abby Roos, Amanda Westfall, Annie Godwin, and Cassie Bouska earned postseason Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association honors.
Roos, a returning senior, was named to the CRCA All-West Region First Team, while Westfall earned second-team honors. Westfall, from South Salem High School, concluded her career at Oregon State this past spring. Eight rowers are named to each team.
Roos, from Sherwood, Ore., was also named a National Scholar Athlete for the first time in her career, with a 3.72 GPA in Liberal Studies. Along with Roos, graduated seniors Godwin, from Halfway, Ore., and Bouska, a Myrtle Point native, received the award as well.
For Godwin, Bouska, and Westfall, it was their second such award.
A total of 96 student-athletes receive National Scholar Athlete Awards each year. The rowers must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, row in 75% of their season's varsity races, and be in the second, third, or fourth years of their eligibility.
Oregon State capped off its season by finishing 15th at the NCAA Championships in May.
